Hi there, William! Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Two of my very favorite things are birthdays and Walt Disney World, so I'm excited to help you plan a magical day for your lovely wife!
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a beautiful setting for a practically perfect birthday celebration, so let's start your wife's special day with a toast! In-room dining isn't available right now, but since you have a refrigerator in your room, you could stash some orange juice and a small bottle of champagne from
Sandy Cove Gifts & Sundries the night before and enjoy morning mimosas together on your balcony. Later, be sure to stop by the front desk on your way out to the theme parks and pick up a free Celebration Button. A Cast Member will customize it for her, and she'll be showered with warm greetings all day!
Since every birthday girl loves flowers, you can order a gorgeous birthday bouquet from
Disney Floral & Gifts! And if flowers alone aren't enough, there are lots of gift baskets to choose from, or you can speak to a Dream Maker to design your own. Your gift will be delivered to the front desk of your Resort hotel and you'll receive a message alerting you that it's ready to pick up.
And of course, you need a cake! If you have a dining reservation at a select Walt Disney World Resort restaurant, you can
order a birthday cake that will be delivered right to your table. The Mickey Mouse Celebration specialty cake is an adorable and totally decadent choice. We had the chocolate one for my son's birthday a couple of years ago, and oh my Mickey ears, was it delicious!
Speaking of sweets, if you happen to be visiting Disney Springs, be sure to stop by
Amorette's Patisserie for a treat. I can seriously just stand there and take in the aromas in this amazing place! You can also pick up a cake here if you plan to dine at Disney Springs.
Another special treat you can try is a session with
Disney's Fine Art Photography. The professional photographers will take the time to capture the perfect portrait to commemorate the occasion.
After a long day of birthday adventures, a moonlight stroll on the beautiful grounds of the Grand will be lovely. Try to be near the Seven Seas Lagoon at around 9:15 p.m. to see the
Electrical Water Pageant pass right by your Resort hotel with its twinkly floats and whimsical soundtrack. It's a Walt Disney World tradition, and so much fun.
Back in your room, if you have any cake and mimosa left, it's a good time for one last toast to the special lady in your life. I hope this helps you celebrate your wife's birthday with a lot of love and a little bit of pixie dust, William. Please come see us again if you have any more questions!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
