what is the availability of taxis like throughout WDW? Need to pre book them or are they readily available? WE have children and thought it might be best to get back asap after nightime shows if possible rather than wait for buses etc. is it expensive?

    Hey Lynette!

We've often bypassed the line for buses or the monorail to grab a taxi back to our Resort at the end of a  long night.  We have never had an issue grabbing a taxi, but there can be a little bit of a wait if you're leaving with everyone else at park closing.

The only park which will not have taxis waiting right at the exit is Magic Kingdom Park.  You will have to take the monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center and grab a taxi there. This will not really save you much time. Your other option is to walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort and grab your taxi at the resort.  I suggest this route if you notice a long line for the monorail line to the TTC.

Prices will vary depending on the park you're at and which resort you're staying at.  In general, I'd expect to pay around $15 (including tip) for each fare.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, Lynette!
