Welcome Home, Christina! It's my pleasure to welcome you to the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney - I love getting to chat with other DVC Members! You've got a friend in me, and I'll be happy to lend a helping hand with your vacation planning question.
Without a doubt, one of the best parts of DVC Membership is the ability to stay at ALL of the incredible resorts - it opens up a whole new world of vacation possibilities! While we often choose to stay at our Home Resort,
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, we've had many other great experiences using our
Vacation Points and the accommodations are always top-notch.
Christina, there is a way to get to a more comprehensive view of resort availability - it just takes a couple of steps to get to it. Start by logging in to the Member website, and then navigate to "Plan a Vacation" at the top of the page, and select "Book a Vacation" from the drop-down menu. You'll land on the standard search page and can enter party size, preferred accommodation type, and the resorts you want to check out. At this point, you will need to enter specific dates, but don't worry - we'll get you to the calendar view!
The results generated from your search will come up as a list that's organized by resort. It will list the types of accommodation with full availability, followed by those with partial or
Waitlist availability. You can click on any of these, and it will bring up a calendar view that shows availability and the number of points needed for each date. For instance, if you're looking for a 1-Bedroom Villa at
Walt Disney World Resort, you can open the specific 1-Bedroom entry for each resort and check out availability and compare point values.
Don't forget that you can have up to two active Waitlist requests per
Use Year. It's a nice option if you have your heart set on a particular resort that's not available for your desired dates - you can book something with full availability, and then create a Waitlist for the other one. Members' plans change all the time, so it never hurts to try!
I hope this information is helpful as you're planning your next Disney adventure, Christina! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can help with other questions about DVC, or tips and tricks for an upcoming vacation. We're all EARS!
Stay Magical,
Susan
