Hi, Jason! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Like you, I'm also the parent of a child who has special needs. We have been bringing my teenage son, who is on the autism spectrum, to
Walt Disney World Resort since he was a preschooler. One of the reasons why we return year after year is the way that the Cast Members go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone.
If your son is in need of an adaptive stroller and you don't plan to bring one from home, you can rent one from ScooterBug, Disney's featured provider for stroller, wheelchair, and ECV rentals. On Walt Disney World Resort's
stroller rentals webpage, you can find a link to the ScooterBug website. ScooterBug has adaptive needs strollers available to rent that have a capacity of 200 pounds. You can even have your stroller rental conveniently delivered to your
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel.
As you get ready for your Walt Disney World Resort trip, be sure to look over the
Services for Guests with Disabilities webpage for an overview of the accommodations that may be available to assist your son during his visit, including
Disability Access Service (DAS). You might also find this
Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities to be helpful as you prepare for your trip. If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask. My fellow
planDisney panelists and I would love to help your family have the most magical vacation ever!
See ya real soon!
Samantha
