Hi Zoraida,
Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question. Having a child on the autism spectrum myself, I've found the Walt Disney World Resort to be a magical place for ALL Guests, and am so thankful for all of the
services offered for Guests with cognitive disabilities. I'm happy to help explain the Disability Access Service a bit more.
First, you'll want to visit
Guest Relations when you first arrive to discuss your concerns about your son's struggles with waiting in lines. If you are approved for the Disability Access Service, they'll take your son's photo, the service will be activated on his account, and they'll make sure all the Guests in your party (within the allowed limit) are linked together. If there's an attraction he'd like to experience, a member of your party will simply tell the Cast Member at the attraction entrance that you'd like to use the Disability Access Service and they'll scan your MagicBand or card and give you a time you may return. We have found the return time to be just slightly less than the currently posted standby wait time. Your party may return at any point in the day after the time they gave you, however you may only use the Disability Access Service on one attraction at a time. When you return, you'll have your son go first in the FastPass+ queue, and then once you've enjoyed that attraction, you'll be able to repeat this process again at another attraction.
Don't forget that you are able to utilize the
FastPass+ service as well, so definitely make sure to schedule three selections per day before you arrive!
I hope this helps, Zoraida! Have a truly magical vacation!
Missy
