Welcome to planDisney, Tammy, it’s so nice to meet you!
I am so happy to hear that you will be visiting
Walt Disney World very soon. I’m sure your grandson is just as excited too. We just got back from a visit last week with my dad and seeing him recreate the memories he made with me as a child, with them, was truly special. It was a full circle moment when my daughter rode
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster with my dad for the first time, similar to how I did years ago. The joke for the rest of the week was that she was braver than I was, which honestly doesn’t surprise me.
Tammy, as a parent myself, I know how much your family relies on your stroller wagon, especially since your grandson finds comfort in it. Unfortunately,
Disney’s current policy does not allow stroller wagons since the theme parks. My fellow panelist,
Mike, has shared some additional tips that may help your grandson feel more comfortable, like visiting with a stroller that has a large canopy so that you all can cover and create that safe space he needs.
From my personal experience, while visiting with my son, I highly recommend purchasing a pair of noise-canceling headphones. My son uses these when things get too noisy around him. Since he is too big for a stroller now, his noise-canceling headphones are his safe place. We also opt in for a lot of breaks and try to find
quiet places in the parks. Those little pauses throughout our day really help him escape and find his comfort. He is an adrenaline seeker, though, so our breaks don’t last too long before he's ready to venture out to the next thing. Again, having his headphones in arm's reach helps.
Tammy, I hope this helps provide some
tips for your upcoming visit. If there’s anything else you have questions about, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are all more than happy to help you plan for this magical visit.
Enjoy the Magic,
Shantel
