Hi Shyloh, and a warm welcome to planDisney today. I'm so excited to hear about your plans to visit Walt Disney World with your little Mousketeer! Let's walk you through the
Disability Access Service (DAS).
Walt Disney World provides DAS to Guests who, because of a disability, cannot wait in a typical queue environment. Once DAS is in place, it allows up to five fellow Guests to select return times for experiences rather than waiting in line. You can choose to obtain DAS at the Parks (which only takes a few minutes) or try and
pre-book a video call with a Cast Member to determine if DAS would be a good fit. Supporting documents are not required at this time. This process must only be completed once for DAS to be valid for your entire trip.
Cast Members are kind and helpful folk, so please ask if there's anything else they can help with, like guidance on storing and refrigerating necessary medicine.
You may find it helpful to watch videos with your kiddo about what to expect before your trip. Many are available, including ride views, which can help things feel less of a sensory overload on arrival.
There are many quieter places to take some time in the Parks. EPCOT (my beloved Park) deserves a special mention with calm spots in the Pavillions throughout the World Showcase, and the
Seas with Nemo & Friends aquarium is soothing for the soul.
If certain items provide comfort at home, such as noise-canceling headphones or therapy putty, please feel free to bring what works for your child. We have always found sticking (as much as possible) to a similar routine as at home helpful, too.
Shyloh, I hope this information helps you out today and that you enjoy a magical time at Walt Disney World. Wishing you nothing but blue skies and sunshine for your visit. Louise
