Tash from ACT Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello from Australia! My husband and I have just booked our trip to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for 7-12 September! Is there anything useful/helpful to be aware of when visiting at that time of year to avoid or get the most out of our trip?

G'day, Tash, and a very warm welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited to hear that you and your husband have a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth coming up. It's been such a special place for me and my family where we've made lasting memories together, immersed in the magic and wonder!

Thank you for stopping by to ask this great question! I'm so honored to be a part of helping you plan a visit that maximizes the magic! Anytime is a perfect time to visit Disneyland but early September is one of my favorites, for the potentially lower crowds and the opportunity to experience the frightfully fun Halloween season, including Oogie Boogie Bash! This after-hours party requires a separate ticket, so make sure to be following the Disney Parks Blog and the Disneyland account on Instagram so you don't miss announcements about when tickets will go on sale, if you're interested in attending.

I encourage you to check the Hours & Events Schedule on the Disneyland website as your visit gets closer, Tash. The Hours & Events Schedule is an incredibly helpful resource, not only providing an entertainment schedule for you, but also includes attraction closure information, park hours, as well as the events occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.

One last tip to get the most out of your trip is to know about Early Entry! Disneyland Resort Hotel Guests are allowed into one of the two parks each day 30 minutes prior to official park opening, so if you're staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel make sure to take advantage of this perk. Or, if you're not staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, make your theme park reservations for the opposite days of Early Entry to avoid these crowds first thing in the morning and get on those high priority attractions quicker. Double check the Hours & Events Calendar before your visit as it will indicate which park has Early Entry on any given day. (You see how important that Hours & Events Calendar is?)

Don't forget, Tash, sometimes part of the magic of a Disneyland vacation is the dreaming and planning along the way, as you anticipate the incredible memories you'll be making with your husband. At least this has been my experience. Then, when you've finally arrived, after months of imagining, and you're walking down Main Street with Sleeping Beauty Castle in the distance, there will be nothing left but to immerse yourself in the magic and wonder.

Well, Tash, I hope this information has been helpful! And remember, if any other planning questions come up, anything from how to utilize the Disneyland app to where to find the best seasonal treats, please don't hesitate to reach out to me! I can talk Disneyland all day.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish you and your husband the most magical visit, Tash!
