My aunt is a Florida resident and I know I would have to purchase my ticket at the standard rate but can she use her resident discount to buy my 5 yr old son’s ticket at Guest Relations ahead of time and then I link it to my Disney experience account?

    Hiya Elizabeth,

Welcome to planDisney! What a magical aunt you have! It is so sweet that she wants to gift Theme Park tickets to your little Mouseketeer.

Thanks for the great question! Yes, Florida Residents can purchase Theme Park tickets at the Florida Resident rate for Guests under the age of 18 as long as they can provide proof of residency at the time of activation. So as long as your aunt activates your son’s ticket at Guest Relations by showing her valid proof of residency, you will be all set!

One suggestion Elizabeth, if your aunt isn’t planning to join you for a magical day at the Theme Parks, she could stop by the Guest Services at Disney Springs to activate your son’s ticket. In my experience, the lines are much shorter than at the Theme Parks, and the chance to get your son a fun set of Mickey Ears for his visit makes it a win/win! You could also meet up and enjoy a meal at one of my favorite spots, Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, and plan your itinerary for the following day.

I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth. Please come back and see us if you need anything else!

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
