Aloha Denise!
Welcome home, and welcome back to planDisney!
Thank you so much for stopping by with another question about your big adventure to Hawaii next year! I always love chatting with fellow
Disney Vacation Club Members and helping them make the most of their membership. My family recently returned from a stay at the Villas at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and it was a real glimpse of a stay in Hawaii! You are going to love
Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, it’s the perfect mix of Disney and island relaxation!
Whenever we travel, we love exploring the local area and finding great hiking spots. One of my favourite hikes has to be up to Victoria Peak in Hong Kong - but let’s get back to Hawaii! I checked in with my fellow panelist JoAnna, who has hiked
Diamond Head. While the level of difficulty can vary depending on your experience, she described it as moderate, she even managed it while carrying her nephew part of the way! The views from the top are definitely worth the effort.
There isn’t much within walking distance around Diamond Head itself, but if you’re driving, Waikiki is just a short trip away. It’s perfect for grabbing lunch, enjoying some shopping, or soaking up the beach atmosphere! Near the base of the hike, you’ll find a few shaded picnic benches by the information booth, but there aren’t any at the summit.
At Aulani, you’ll find complimentary beach chairs waiting for you along the resort’s
stunning coast line. Each day, you’ll receive a wristband giving you access to all the resort facilities, including those chairs, the perfect place to relax after a hike to Diamond Point!
Mahalo, Denise, for bringing such a great question to planDisney! I hope you have the BEST visit to Hawaii in just a few months time! If you have any further questions please reach out to us here at
planDisney.
See ya real soon!
Matt
