Hi, We are going to Aulani in a few months and I was looking at a tentative schedule for this week and it says "Wikiwiki hairbraiding"....what is that? Is it for kids? Just curious. Michelle

Aloha, Michelle! Welcome to planDisney! Mahalo for stopping by with such an oh-so-fun vacation planning question.

Before you know it, you'll be arriving at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, taking in the gorgeous, grand lobby, feeling the warm, tropical breeze, hearing the sounds of the ukulele and waves lapping the shoreline, and tasting that first sip of a mai tai from a pineapple. Ahhhhh, vacation mode activated. That definitely sounds like a magical paradise to me! I'm also planning a vacation to Aulani, and while I'm definitely thrilled to enjoy the magic that is Hawaii, I'm super excited to participate in the awesome Resort activities around Aulani! I'm so glad to hear that you also plan to enjoy the Resort activities, such as the Wikiwiki Hair Braiding, and I'm more than happy to answer your question today.

"Wiki wiki" actually means "quick" or "fast" in Hawaiian! The hair braiding is for everyone ages three and up, and I spoke with a helpful Cast Member at the front desk at Aulani, who informed me that adults absolutely can and do participate in the hair braiding, as well as children. She also informed me that the Wikiwiki Hair Braiding is done at Laniwai - A Disney Spa, so, enjoy every minute of being pampered ... Even if it is wiki wiki!

Speaking of must-do Resort activities at Aulani, my Aulani expert planDisney pal, Kamini, advised me not to miss the "Make Your Own Mickey Ears" activity, so, I'm passing that tip on to you! It does seem like the cutest way to have fun and take home a magical souvenir to cherish forever! Be sure to check your Daily 'Iwa: Aulani Resort Activities Calendar for the schedule of activities so that you don't miss a thing!

Michelle, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you have the most magical time in your pixie-dusted paradise and on your Hawaiian rollercoaster ride! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

A hui hou (Until we meet again),
