We are going to Aulani in August and thinking of doing a photo session. What is the difference between the 20 min with a photo pass photographer and the mini photo session besides the CD?

    Aloha Alison!

Your August vacation in paradise at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai‘i is right around the corner...you must be so excited! My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at Aulani this year and can't wait to return. I hope you enjoy it just as much!

Alison, we booked one of the Mini Portrait Sessions at Aulani to have some family photographs taken during our trip, and I am so glad we did! The pictures turned out great and are such a precious keepsake of our vacation. The wonderful photographer was very pleasant and personable and made the whole experience a lot of fun. We paid the premium session fee to have our photographs taken at sunset, and to my mind, it was worth every penny. It is hands down the most stunning backdrop to any family photograph we have ever had. All of the photographs taken during the session are provided on a disc. Be sure to review the detailed Price List for Photography Services at Aulani for information about all available options.

I have also heard great reviews about the private sessions with a PhotoPass Photographer. Do be aware that in addition to the session fee, you will still have to purchase the Disney PhotoPass CD to obtain your images, but the CD will also contain any other PhotoPass images taken during your trip. You should also be aware that more specialized equipment and lighting is used if you are booking the Mini Portrait Sessions. Currently families booking Mini Portrait Sessions are also offered the Disney PhotoPass CD at a reduced price.

Alison, I hope this information is helpful as you consider your options. Wishing you a magical upcoming vacation at Aulani with your 'Ohana.
