In August 2012 we will make our first trip to Disney World with our 8 year old grandson. I am thinking about the 3 day MYW ticket. Good idea? We are staying at a friend's house in Orlando so won't be on Disney property. Suggestion for a character dining

I am so excited that planning for your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World is underway!  You and your grandson will create priceless memories together and you are gonna win Grandma of the year for sure!

Magic Your Way Tickets are definitely the way to go, and I highly recommend adding the Park Hopper option which will allow you the flexibility to visit multiple parks in one day! You can start your day Soarin' at Epcot, and can end it with Wishes at the Magic Kingdom!

Even though you are staying off property, you will be able to dine at any restaurant at WDW, even those located within the resort's Hotels!  I highly recommend Chef  Mickey's, a character dining experience located at Disney's Contemporary Resort, for guests of all ages!  Here, you and your grandson will get to feast from a delicious buffet while visiting with some beloved Disney characters, including the Head Cheese, Chef Mickey, himself.  Chef Mickey's is among the most popular dining experiences, so be sure to book an advanced reservation as soon as possible, ONLINE, or by calling (407)WDW-DINE.

I also highly recommend the Best Friends Breakfast at 'Ohana Restaurant located within Disney's Polynesian Resort.  Here in this Island Paradise, the two of you will share a family-style breakfast with visits from Lilo and Stitch, as well as a few other beloved Disney characters.

Another option that would be perfect is Donald's Safari Breakfast over at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom!  If you book your reservation early enough, you will be permitted to enter the theme park before it opens, which is a cool experience!  Be sure to try the yummy Jungle Juice! -Amanda F.
