What attractions and restaurants will be closed at Disneyland Resort and California Adventure from August 9-11, 2025?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! Your trip to the Disneyland Resort parks will be here before you know it! When planning your awesome vacation, it’s important to know what might be closed so you can plan accordingly and avoid disappointment. I’m happy to share some tips on where you can find this information.

I recommend checking the Hours and Events calendar to see what might be closed during your trip. You can usually view the calendar up to 40 days in advance, so be sure to check back in late June or July to see what's scheduled to be open. You can access this online or through the Disneyland mobile app. On the Disneyland website, pull up the Daily Events Schedule and switch to the Day View. Scroll down to the "Closed for Refurbishment" section to see which attractions will be unavailable.

If you're using the Disneyland app, tap the three bars in the bottom-right corner. Scroll down to “Park Hours & Info” under the My Visit heading. After selecting your travel dates, scroll down to see which attractions are listed as closed for refurbishment. Keep in mind that refurbishment schedules are always subject to change, so I recommend checking regularly for updates.

Jennifer, you’ll be visiting the parks just before the Halloween season begins, which means you’ll still get to enjoy all the 70th Anniversary decor, entertainment, and food! If you'd like to catch as much nighttime entertainment as possible, I recommend heading to “it’s a small world” to view Paint the Night. Soon after the parade, the Wondrous Journeys fireworks show begins, and you’ll be able to see the projections for that show right there as well. To top it all off, the Tapestry of Happiness will also be projected onto "it’s a small world," so you’ll get to enjoy three incredible shows from one magical spot! I usually grab a few snacks (popcorn and a churro are my go-to!) and settle in while I wait for the fun to begin.

I hope this helps with your planning, Jennifer! If you have any more questions or need a little extra pixie dust, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help make your Disney dreams come true!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
