Hello Candice! Your April trip is getting so close! I hope you have your countdown to Disney started! You are asking a great planning question! There are so many special moments to be captured at the Walt Disney World Resort! It sounds like you want to make sure you get all of them!
Your Walt Disney World Resort photos get linked to your MagicBand through a little bit of Disney magic known as
Disney PhotoPass Service. This service is provided as a Guest of the Walt Disney World Resort and is available at over 100 locations throughout the resort! Some attractions, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will automatically capture your photo as you experience the attraction. Again, that is the magic! Once your photograph is captured it will be available for view in your
My Disney Experience app. If you don't see a photograph right away, don't worry. I have found that photos can take from a few minutes to load to a full day to load.
On the other hand (or wrist...MagicBand humor), there are a few attractions where you still need to do a little work! Upon exiting some attractions, such as Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Splash Mountain, or Space Mountain you will pass a wall of monitors which display photographs taken of Guests enjoying the attraction. When you see this, simply tap your MagicBand to the Mickey icon underneath the screen displaying your photo. The Mickey icon will "light up" indicating that your photograph has been linked to your MagicBand! It's pretty simple!
So the rule of thumb should be, if you see a wall of monitors assume that you have to link the photo to your MagicBand. If you don't see a wall of monitors assume that either a little Disney magic has linked your photo or there is no attraction photograph offered for that ride.
Disney PhotoPass Service will allow you the opportunity to pay just for the photos and videos that you want to keep. Photos will only be available to you for a limited time following your vacation. If the ability to access and download all of your photographs forever and to have the rights to use your photos in any way that you'd like, including printing them from any service that you choose, you can purchase
Memory Maker. This service allows you more flexibility to use all of your photographs.
Candice, if you decide to purchase Memory Maker, do so prior to your travel! Purchasing Memory Maker in advance is less expensive than purchasing it once you arrive at your resort!
