How can I see what attractions are open or closed? Attending dw January 13-16.

Hi Susan, and thanks for stopping by planDisney! I'm Andrew, and I'd be happy to help answer your question about the multiple ways to check the current status of the world-famous Walt Disney World Resort attractions!

Did you know that currently there are 173 attractions at the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts? That's a LOT of things to do! To put it in perspective, if you experienced just one a day, it would take you nearly six months to check all of the magic off that list!

What's that? How did I know how many there were so quickly? I wish I could say it was because I have encyclopedic knowledge of many things like my favorite obscure Disney character, KnowsMore, but its even easier than that! I just navigated over to the Walt Disney World Resort website and selected "Attractions" under the "Activities" menu! From there, you can see which attractions are available at each park, those that are unavailable - either due to refurbishment or seasonal closures - as well as what their scheduled hours of operation are! It's a great way to get an idea of what will be available while planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.

But I see you're scheduled to arrive very soon! In that case, be sure to download the My Disney Experience app which puts "some power in your corner, now!" With this app, not only will you'll be able to find which attractions are available, but you'll also be able to use it to view in-park navigation, wait times, show times, park hours, in-app chat and even to join any virtual queues to make your days in the parks even more enjoyable!

The My Disney Experience app is also your gateway to the all new Disney Genie service, where you can get a personalized itinerary based on your traveling party's interests and favorites, including a tip board to track wait times for your can't-miss attractions, and time-saving access to popular attractions and dining! It's also the starting point for the expanded Genie+ and Lightning Lane paid options that can take your parks experience to the next level. I know my friend and fellow panelist Jennifer dove a little deeper into the Genie+ details for another Guest in an answer that you may find helpful!

But wait, that's not all! Downloading the app also allows you to use your smart device as your park ticket, room key (if you're staying in a Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotel) and more! It truly is a way for you to have your complete Disney experience in the palm of your hand!

Thank you again, Susan for your question and for reaching out to us here at planDisney! I hope the attractions you're hoping to check off your list are available for your to experience and that you have an absolutely magical time!

    See ya real soon!

    Andrew
