Hello, I am attending WDW and purchased memory maker. My daughter is on my friends and family and will attend two days before I am. Do I need to transfer memory maker to her to include photos from her first two days in the park? Thanks, Josh

    Hi Josh,

Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. Especially since you're asking about my favorite Disney souvenir: Disney Photos! There's nothing I love more than reliving all the magical memories and moments by looking through photos taken during a Disney vacation!

Josh, I have great news! Yes, you’ll be able to download your daughter’s photos even if she arrives before you do. No need to transfer anything. Your daughter can start taking photos with Disney PhotoPass photographers as soon as she arrives. As long as you’re connected through your Family & Friends list in your My Disney Experience account and have photo sharing enabled, those photos will show up in your My Disney Experience app, and you’ll be able to start downloading and sharing away!

Your Memory Maker then gives you the ability to download all the eligible photos linked to your account, including those of up to 25 people on your Family & Friends list.

Now here’s the timing piece to keep in mind. Memory Maker activates when you download your first photo, not when the photo is taken. From that moment, you’ll have 30 days to download as many additional photos as you’d like. Photos themselves currently expire 45 days after they’re taken, so you have a nice little window to make sure you grab everything.

That means you can absolutely download your daughter’s photos from her first couple of park days before you even arrive, as long as they haven’t expired and you activate your Memory Maker within that timeframe.

One thing to note is that while you can download and keep those photos, the Memory Maker entitlement stays with your account. It doesn’t transfer over to your daughter’s account directly. But once you’ve downloaded them, you’re free to share them however you’d like.

Josh, I hope this helps answer your question, and I hope your trip is filled with incredible moments and a camera roll full of memories you’ll treasure forever. If you have any other questions or need any tips on the best photo spots (or where to look for those iconic ride pics), don’t hesitate to come back and see us.
