Hi! I will be attending sweethearts nite 2024 but it will rain the night of the event. What are the chances of the photo ops still being there?? I would like to make sure i’m getting my full moneys worth!!

Hi Qiana! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

I took a peek at the forecast for the night of your Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts' Nite tickets, and I think you might be in the clear. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that it will be a cloudless sky. Regardless, I know you'll have a magical night!

When it rains in Disneyland, sometimes certain Attractions must close. But otherwise, things operate mostly as usual. Just a little soggier. If there is rain in the forecast, be sure to bring a raincoat or poncho to keep your finery dry, pick shoes that will dry quickly, and an extra pair of socks. The more comfortable you are, the more you'll be able to focus on the magic of the evening.

One of the memorable parts of these romantic evenings is the Character and themed photo opportunities. I'm sure you've got your heart set on at least a few of these, and the Disney PhotoPass photographers will be working hard on your night and every night to make those dreams come true. For the comfort of Cast Members, it might be necessary to pause photography due to weather conditions. I have personal experience with this at a specially-ticketed event. My family attended Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite last year, and while rain wasn't forecasted, it ended up being a little damp. We experienced steady, sometimes heavy drizzle while we were waiting in line to see Ewoks, one of the special Character Experiences that night. We were informed by a helpful Cast Member that it might be necessary for our Ewok friends to step away. We were given the chance to leave the queue if we didn't want to continue waiting given that chance they might need to take cover. It was a must-do for us, so we stayed, and given the partial cover our mighty little friends had, they didn't need to head back home to Endor.

If you experience conditions that require some photography to be paused, there are plenty of other magical experiences to explore. You'll enjoy generally shorter waits for Attractions, entertainment, some sweet take-home keepsakes, and more special menu items than you possibly have room for on one night! I took a look at the availability of Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite Dining Packages, and at this time, I still found a reservation for your night. Check it out if you're interested! It could make the evening all the more special.

    Have a magical time.
