Hi Sandra ~
I am a HUGE fan of
Star Wars Weekends (SWW)!
A schedule of events for the 2014 SWW has not been released and it seems Disney is changing things up this year so
stay tuned to Disney Parks Blog for new information to be released and the event website DisneyTheForce.com. If you're on twitter, follow #DisneyTheForce.
It is hard to see and do everything in a day because of the crowd level. Here's what I'd suggest:
* If you want a Celebrity Autograph, arrive way early. Check the SWW link above for details and keep in mind this process could change this year.
* Decide which events are most important and make those a priority.
* Arrive before Hollywood Studios (DHS) opens to get through security and be ready to go.
* Grab a special SWW Guide Map as you enter DHS to confirm the day's schedule of events.
* If your kids want to participate in Jedi Training Academy or the Padawan Mind Challenge, head straight to the ABC Sound Studio to sign up (these fill up fast).
* Take advantage of character greeting locations before it gets too hot or crowded. We got to see C-3PO and R2-D2 at Darth's Mall early in the morning last year. It was the only time they appeared together.
* Scout out a good spot for the Celebrity Motorcade early.
* Attend at least one of the presentations at the Premiere Theater - get in line super early. Stars of the Saga featuring the Celebrity Guests with the Stormtrooper Pre-Show is our favorite.
* Shop at Darth's Mall for a break from the afternoon heat.
* Grab a good spot super early for the Symphony in the Stars grand finale.
There is lots of waiting so bring something to entertain your kids. Towels to sit on, umbrellas to block the sun, misty fans and snacks help.
May the Force by with you! Allison V.
