I am attending the runDisney Halloween Half in September. How do I get to the race starting line? Is there transpo early from surrounding hotels if we can’t get into a Disney hotel?

On your mark, get set, magic! Hey there and welcome to planDisney, Megan. We're so glad you sprinted over to ask this question. We're less than two months away (eek!) from the Disneyland Halloween Half Marathon weekend and I'm thrilled to help you prepare.

During the last race weekend at the Disneyland Resort, the starting line for the 5K was inside Disneyland Park and the starting line for both the 10K and the Half Marathon was on Disney Way. We're not sure if the course will be the same for the Halloween race weekend, so I recommend keeping an eye on the runDisney website as well as following @rundisney on Instagram for updates and course reveals as we get closer.

The runDisney site for the event will also be updated with all the information you need regarding transportation and parking. I stayed at a Disneyland Resort hotel for the race earlier this year and was able to easily walk over to the start line for both the 5K and 10K races. If you're not staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel, I recommend contacting the hotel that you're staying at to see what options might be available for you to get close to the start line on race day. You may also consider taking a rideshare to get you as close to the start as possible. Keep in mind that many of the surrounding roads will already be closed, so there most likely will still be some walking involved. When you stop by the Health & Fitness Expo to pick up your bib, I also recommend stopping by the course support booth to see if they can offer any suggestions for getting to the start line from your specific hotel.

It's going to be a weekend to remember. Every mile is magical and it's such a fun event to participate in. My favorite part is celebrating my accomplishment with a DOLE Whip and many churros in the park. Wear your medal to the park for some fun photos to commemorate and remember this amazing feat!

Megan, I hope this is helpful as you're starting to think about your spooktacular race weekend. Here's hoping that your training is going wickedly well. We'll see you on the course!
