    Attending Pir & Pals cruise on 10/7-Columbus Day wkend. What is the absolute best way 2 get 2 & from POR to the Contemporary & back from there 2 r resort? Is there anyway to beat the mass exodus from MK afterwards? Ages 11-76 & we want 2

    Hi Sue,

    To get to Disney's Contemporary Resort before your Pirates and Pals Voyage, board a Magic Kingdom-bound bus at your home resort.  When you arrive at the Magic Kingdom, board the resort (not the express) monorail.  Disney's Contemporary Resort will be your first stop.

    After the fireworks, I agree with you that it is a good idea to avoid going back to the Magic Kingdom.  The lines to board the bus to your home resort will likely be very long there.  Instead, exit the front of Disney's Contemporary Resort.  Board a bus to Downtown Disney.  Once you arrive at Downtown Disney, you will find a bus that will take you on a short ride to Disney's Port Orleans Resort.

    Of course, catching a taxi at the front of Disney's Contemporary Resort would be a quick way to get back to your home resort but it would likely cost you $15-20.
