Halloween greetings, Travis. Thanks for stopping by with your spooktacular question!
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party is one of my favorite events of the year at the Disneyland Resort. I love seeing other Guests in their creatively crafted costumes! In past years, we saw Madame Leota and a Toy Story traffic cone costumes, and my kids still bring them up. Before hitting up the treat trails, all Guests should look at the
Dressing for Special Events section of the
Disneyland Resort website to ensure their costume will be permitted at the resort.
Travis, one part of the costume dress code that stood out to me was the section that says, "Costumes may not contain any weapons that resemble or could easily be mistaken for an actual weapon." The final say on whether a specific prop and costume weapon will be allowed on resort property during Oogie Boogie Bash rests with the Cast Members in the Security area. It is hard to tell whether the items you described will be allowed without seeing them. Another section of note, states that "Guests who do not adhere to these guidelines may be refused entry into, and/or removed from, the event, unless his or her costume can be modified to meet the above standards. While we encourage creativity, we also value safety and good judgment."
I highly recommend arriving early and having an alternate plan (like placing any unpermitted items in a car), in case either of these items aren't allowed at the party. I have seen people turned away for costumes not adhering to the policy, and it's a tough way to arrive at such a fun celebration. I encourage you and all Guests to read the
costume policy in full before attending Oogie Boogie Bash.
I hope this information helps you make a decision, Travis. Please say "hi" to Oogie Boogie and his friends for me!
Happy haunting,
Melissa
