Hi Jaclyn! Welcome back to planDisney!
Your first time at
Oogie Boogie Bash, how exciting! This party is one-of-a-kind! And as you likely saw by how quickly tickets sold out, this is one of the most popular events at the Disneyland Resort!
As a fellow Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I'm sure you've heard this line time and time again. "This is Halloween. Everybody make a scene." It's a classic, right? Now, we should only be "making a scene" in a good way at the Disneyland Resort, but it sounds like you're on the right track. One of the great things about Oogie Boogie Bash is the ability for Guests of all ages to dress in costume! Your Oogie Boogie costume sounds impressive. I wish I could see it in action!
Jaclyn, as long as your costume adheres to the
Costume Guidelines, you should be good to go. For your particular costume idea, I wouldn't anticipate any issues with the face painting. Depending on what you choose to use to recreate the burlap sack worn by Oogie Boogie, you may be subject to additional security screening. Just keep that in mind when layering your costume! Also, be sure that this portion of the costume does not drag on the ground. The Disneyland Resort reserves the right to deny entry to those who wear costumes that do not adhere to these guidelines.
Though my plans to attend Oogie Boogie Bash did not work out this year, I was especially excited to check out Villains Grove during the event. The
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail offers a unique frightful ode to our favorite Disney Villains. Dressed in your costume, this may be a perfect experience for you!
To help you unleash your inner Oogie Boogie, I leave you with this..
"I am the shadow of the moon at night, filling your dreams to the brim with fright."
Until next time,
Ashley
