Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. You're in for a wicked good time, so let's take a stab at some of the must-dos.
While I haven't experienced Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World quite yet (I'm attending my first party next month!), I've been to many of Oogie Boogie's bashes and I am dying to share all of my favorite experiences and things that you won't want to miss. With the villains out to play, this bash has a bit more of a mischievous twist. In fact, it has quite an
interesting backstory that my panelist pal, Al, shared a few years back.
Although candy collection may not be a priority, the
treat trails are where you will find many of the villains, and you won't want to miss seeing as many as you can. The newest villain to walk through the portal and take over a treat trail this year is Yzma. She is one of my faves and I can't wait to see her when I attend the bash next month. A few other must-see villains of mine include Ernesto de la Cruz, Agatha Harkness and Judge Doom (watch out for The Dip).
New to the entertainment lineup this year is Madame Leota’s Swinging Wake – A Haunted Mansion Street Party. This haunting display will make its way between the Little Mermaid attraction and down Hollywood Boulevard. Being a huge Haunted Mansion fan, I'm particularly excited to see this swinging wake. There are two showtimes during the party (subject to change) and I recommend trying to catch the second viewing for lighter crowds.
Taking a stroll through Villains Grove is another party must. This walk-through attraction comes to life when the sun goes down and darkness falls over Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. This usually draws quite a crowd, but you may be able to catch a break in the line while the first showing of Madame Leota's Swinging Wake is taking place.
Finally, if it's thrills you're looking for, you'll undoubtedly experience lower wait times for attractions with the limited capacity during the bash. There are even a few attractions with spooky overlays to get you in the spirit of things. My favorite is Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark. You can head to Cars Land (or Radiator
Screams) for the other two attractions. While you're there, don't forget to peep all of the glorious Haul-o-ween decorations. The residents go all out and the vibes are immaculate, as well as the puns. Peer through the window of the lobby of the Cozy Cone Motel to find the cutest little display of "Brakes Motel." Seriously, Cars Land is hands-down the best place for spooky season décor.
It's almost time for me to make my exit, but before I go, I'll leave you with a few extra tips. If you don't have a park ticket for California Adventure on the day of the party, you can enter the park up to three hours early (at 3:00 PM) before the party officially starts. You'll be given an event guide at party check-in, but there's also a digital guide that you can peek at right now in the
Disneyland app.
