I am attending the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure Park in a few weeks. I am going as the old witch/hag from Snow White. I know we cannot wear masks but can I wear a latex nose and/or chin prosthetic to make a witch face?

Greetings, Bonnie! Thanks for visiting planDisney with your ghoulishly delightful questions. I'm so excited that you'll be attending Oogie Boogie Bash this month. From Disney characters and villains sightings to the Frightfully Fun Parade - this evening is all treats and no tricks!

Bonnie, like you, my family is looking forward to dressing up for Oogie Boogie Bash. While your Evil Queen in old witch outfit sounds amazing, there are some things in the Costume Guidelines for the event that give me pause. The two rules that I think apply here are:

    • Headwear may be worn as long as it does not cover the face.
    • Masks of any kind may not be worn, except for medical purposes.
Prosthetics seem to fall into the realm of headware, especially when applied to the nose and chin. The final determination on this rule lies with Cast Members at the security checkpoint and during the event. My recommendation would be to have a backup plan in case they don't allow it. You could also try bringing it with you and adhering it after asking security. This would prevent you from having to remove it if it is not allowed.

Bonnie, also be aware that the Dressing for Special Events guidelines apply to the entirety of the event. This means Cast Members can ask Guests to alter their costumes even once through security. I have actually seen this happen in past years, when a longer dress was dragging on the ground. I'm sure you don't want to lose a second of your Oogie Boogie Bash time, so please practice your good judgment when interpreting the costume rules.

Before I jump on my broom, I want to make sure you've seen the Disneyland Halloween Foodie Guide. The Disney Parks Blog conjured up the complete list, and I am dying to try so many of the treats this year. The Chicken Pot Pie Soup from Aunt Cass Café and the Spell Bar from Award Wieners look amazing! You can mobile order many of these treats in the Disneyland Mobile App to save time.

Bonnie, I hope this helps in your planning. Please visit us again with any other potion... I mean, planning questions.

    Seasons screamings,
    Melissa
