I will be attending the NAPNAP conference while we are there so I have to schedule our times at each park. Some days will be half days. Which park can we do in 1/2 a day? We will be able to view other parks in a full day as well. Please help.

    Hi Rachel,

Isn't it great to have a conference in the Orlando area? I attended a conference in Orlando recently, and being able to leave the conference and visit a Walt Disney World park was truly magical.

As to which park to see in a half day, I would start by considering if the half day be a morning or afternoon. If it is the morning, I would recommend Disney's Animal Kingdom. I think that the animals are more active in the morning, so if you can arrive at the park at opening, it would be a great time to see the animals from an open-air safari vehicle on Kilimanjaro Safari. You could walk the Maharajah Jungle Trek or Pangani Forest Exploration Trail walking trails and view the animals there.

If the half day is an afternoon and evening, I would consider Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios. At Epcot, you could spend an entire half day walking around the World Showcase sampling food and beverage from the various countries. If you are more interested in attractions, you could ride a couple of the big attractions, such as Soarin' and Test Track. Either way, you could end your evening seeing Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, the nighttime spectacular show on World Showcase Lagoon featuring lasers and fireworks. Likewise, if the half day is an afternoon and evening, you could see Disney's Hollywood Studios. Take in a couple big attractions such as Toy Story Midway Mania! and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Then finish your night by seeing Fantasmic!, an amazing show featuring characters and fireworks.

If you only have one day to spend a full day at a park, I would suggest that to be Magic Kingdom Park.  As the original park at Walt Disney World Resort, there is just so much to do in all of its lands that leaving after a half day would be really hard!

Have a great conference at a wonderful time at the parks, Rachel. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions!
