We will be attending MNSSHP Oct 6th with kids ages 4 and 1.5. How should we spend the first half of our day? We will be taking an afternoon nap and then heading out for dinner and party. Where would you recommend making ADR and what time?

Hi Jill!  Since the special events such as Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party are from 7:00pm-midnight you do need to consider a fairly quiet day for the kids before you head out for the late night.  You might consider doing some recreation such as swimming in the morning or head to Downtown Disney to walk around and see some of the sights there.  Have an early lunch and then naps in the afternoon.  Dinner can either be in the Magic Kingdom park or at a location close.  If you aren't able to get reservations in the park (Liberty Tree Tavern and Tony's are my favorite) then try a dining location in either the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian resorts since they are on the monorail line with the Magic Kingdom and easy to get to.  You can enter the Magic Kingdom park with your special event ticket as early as 4:00pm but the real party starts up at 7:00!  I suggest dining reservations around 5:30/6:00.
