If attending HS, how long would it take to visit a water park and then return to HS? I guess I’m asking travel duration between the two just wanting to maximize my time spent there! Thanks!

    Hi Kelli!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

With so many fun and exciting things to explore at the Walt Disney World Resort, I understand wanting to experience as much as possible while you are there!

My family loves to explore all four of the Theme Parks and visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. Visiting the water parks is a great way to relax while still having a great time.

If you are going to be using Disney Bus Transportation to get around the Walt Disney World Resort, it is essential to understand that there are many different modes of transportation and routes. You may also need to transfer buses to get from one place to another. Make sure you download the My Disney Experience mobile app to view routes and stop locations. Therefore, pinpointing an exact amount of travel time to get from place to place is quite tricky. I always say that it is best to allow 90 minutes to get from place to place; however, it could be more or less time depending on the route you take.

Currently, Disney Water Park bus service operates at approximately 30-minute intervals. Bus service from Disney Resort hotels begins 45 minutes prior to park opening and ends 1 hour prior to park closing. Return service to Disney Resort hotels ends 75 minutes after park closing. It has been my experience that there is not a direct route from a water park to the theme park. Therefore, you would have to catch a bus from your Resort hotel, to the water park of your choice, and then back to your Resort hotel. If you wanted to go to a theme park, you would then catch a bus from your Resort hotel to your desired theme park.

Another option to consider is using Disney’s Minnie Van Service. Minnie Van works with the Lyft app. Simply open the Lyft app from anywhere within Walt Disney World Resort, request a ride, and pay for it through the app. A Cast Member will pick you up in a clean and comfortable Minnie Van. I suggest this service because if you are at a water park and would like to get to Disney’s Hollywood Studios efficiently, this service can do that for you without additional stops or the need to transfer vehicles.

Whatever you decide, make sure to take some time to stop and enjoy the magic!
