Hi there, Raul,
I think you’ve got the right idea with extending the magic of the Disneyland Resort to even more in your party. If I understand correctly, you are seeking to purchase an additional
theme park ticket and make a
theme park reservation for that ticket. If theme park reservations are unavailable for your preferred date, you may have a few options.
First, theme park reservation availability can sometimes be variable. So it can help to keep checking the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar for openings. In particular, the night before is a time when other Guests are more likely to consider canceling a reservation to reschedule for another day.
It can be a little uncertain to hope for cancellations like that. So it is good to have a plan B. If you happen to be staying at a
Disneyland Resort Hotel, plan B might be to take advantage of
theme park reservation inventory exclusively for on-site hotel Guests. This is the strategy that my family used to secure park reservations for the day of the very popular New Year’s Eve celebration. I thought it was a win because not only did we get to experience the amazing celebration in the parks, but we also got to enjoy a relaxing day at our favorite resort hotel to recover afterward.
Finally, it sounds like you might have access to another option. A theme park reservation is not transferable. But what that means is that it is attached to the ticket and/or the vacation package used to secure that reservation. If the ticket itself is wholly unused, it can be given to another Guest to use along with any attached entitlements, such as a theme park reservation. If your friend’s family member cannot make it to the parks with you, perhaps your friend would be willing to let your wife use their ticket instead. It’s OK if the name associated with the ticket doesn’t match, as long as the person to first use the ticket for park admission remains the same for the duration of the ticket’s validity afterward.
I hope this gives you some good options to work with, Raul. I’m crossing my fingers and sending you pixie-dusted happy thoughts that you’ll find a way to get your whole party together for a visit to the Disneyland Resort.
See ya real soon!
