Hi there, Mark! Welcome back to planDisney. I’m so excited to hear that you’ll be attending your very first Food and Wine Festival. It’s always such a treat, and I’d love to walk you through some of the offerings so you don’t miss a thing!
As the name suggests, the Food and Wine Festival highlights the fresh flavors that the Golden State has to offer. I completely understand not being an adventurous eater, as my husband is the same way. One thing we like to do before attending a festival at the parks is take a look at the
Foodie Guide that the Disney Parks Blog releases. This gives us, and especially him, an idea of which small bites and drinks might be up his alley and which ones he may want to skip. The Foodie Guide also highlights non-alcoholic beverages throughout the festival, which is great since you mentioned that you don’t drink alcohol.
Looking at the guide myself, I know desserts are going to be a hit. With familiar flavors featured in the Mickey-shaped Macaron made with Snickers bar pieces, or even my personal favorite, the
sourdough shaped like a bunch of grapes as a nod to California’s wine country, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
In between tasting your way through the festival, be sure to make time for a
culinary demonstration in Hollywood Land. You’ll get a first-hand look at tips and tricks from local and visiting chefs as they prepare delectable dishes right before your eyes. I always enjoy these demonstrations because they inspire me to try new ideas in my own kitchen.
While you’re in Hollywood Land, you can also visit
Chef Goofy inside his crazy kitchen for some wacky photo encounters that guests of all ages will enjoy. This is especially fun since I usually see Chef Goofy over at Goofy’s Kitchen. If you enjoy meeting him, you might even consider making a reservation at his
restaurant for even more fun!
There’s also plenty to enjoy beyond the food. My family loves Soarin’ Around the World, and during the Food and Wine Festival, it transforms into
Soarin’ Over California. This attraction is always a must for us. It brings back so many memories from visits with my parents, and now I get to experience it with my little one. The best part is smelling the oranges because, fun fact, Disneyland was built
70 years ago on 160 acres that used to be orange groves!
Mark, thank you so much for visiting planDisney. I hope you have an incredible time at the Food and Wine Festival. If you have any more questions or need help planning your visit, please feel free to stop by again!
With a Sprinkle of Pixie Dust,
Bev
