Welcome, Jennifer!
Thanks for bringing your great question to planDisney. I’m so excited to hear you’ll be attending a
Disney Institute event at the
Walt Disney World Resort this summer! I’ve been to several courses and events through Disney Institute and I’m happy to help you plan and know what to expect.
Disney Institute is the business consulting group of The Walt Disney Company, focused on the processes and creativity that have made the Disney Parks and Resorts such a success over the years. They bring business insights and teaching moments to professionals who then take those lessons to their own companies, tailored to their own work, for greater impact. And of course, there’s some magic along the way and a lot of fun!
As part of your
course registration, you will be receiving Park Hopper tickets. I highly recommend you add these to your
My Disney Experience account and then
make theme park reservations for each day. You will not receive a fully detailed itinerary from Disney Insitute in advance, leaving room for surprises. If you make a theme park reservation and don’t need it, there will be no penalty and your ticket will not be deducted by one day until it’s used to enter a park. If you find you have more time than anticipated and want to get in a theme park, you don’t want to be left without a reservation. You can make theme park reservations online for each day and note that
you can hop to a different park after visiting the first park that you have a reservation for (after 2:00 P.M.).
As a Disney fan, the Disney Institute experience will be so special for you! I’ve loved meeting such a diverse range of classmates across many industries and countries. The Disney Cast Member facilitators have a wealth of experience across Disney Parks and Resorts and bring the lessons to life through storytelling and creative workshops. You’ll come away with a deeper appreciation of the success of this company for the past 100 years but also inspired to take these insights into your own business for greater impact and bigger ideas than you imagined possible. The surprises and field experiences throughout the course are thrilling for Disney fans as they often share backstories of favorite attractions or have interactions with incredible leaders across the Walt Disney World Resort.
The dress is business casual in class, and I suggest you wear comfortable shoes every day as there could be some walking even on planned classroom days. Be sure to bring some layers or a change of clothes for venturing out into the theme parks and experiencing your living classroom in action as a Guest! You’ll be glad you make those theme park reservations.
Please
let me know if you have any more questions or would like additional ideas to make the most of your experience at Disney Institute, Jennifer.
Wishing you an incredible experience!
Amy
