Hello, my wife and I are attending a 4 day conference in October, the conference is at the Coronado but we're looking to stay elsewhere. Do we need to purchase park passes for each nigh of our stay, even if we only plan on entering the park 3 nights?

Hi there Mitchell, I'd like to welcome you to planDisney!

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is definitely a busy location for conventions and conferences and I've attended my share in the past; it's great that you and your wife will have the time and opportunity to enjoy yourselves a bit at the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks during your stay! Here are a few helpful things to keep in mind:

    • I took the opportunity to ask a Cast Member who explained that no two conferences held at Walt Disney World Resort are necessarily run the same way; since you didn't specify which one of the many occurring at the same time that you'll be attending, they let me know that they're unfortunately unable to confirm any particular ticketing details from their end specific to your conference.
    • What I can advise you as your best bet is to check your conference's registration information first to confirm whether they have any specifics regarding theme park tickets and reach out directly to the event organizers. Though typically conference planners block out rooms and organize spaces for your schedule with the Disney Meetings and Events team, they may or may not offer specially-priced convention admission through your organization. (For example, one event I attended provided for admission to specific Theme Parks on specific days already included in the registration fees; another had the option of purchasing discounted tickets for admission after 1:00 p.m. or in the evening after the scheduled sessions, which were valid for the week prior, during and after the convention concluded.)
    • It is also important to note that there are in fact several different Theme Parks at Walt Disney World and certain Ticket Types may require a Theme Park Reservation during the time of your visit on October 2023, which currently includes any specially-priced Convention tickets that I previously mentioned - if your organization offers it.
That said, if you're able to confirm that the conference has not organized any particular admission offerings for attendees, exhibitors or vendors I highly recommend that you have a look at the current Theme Park Ticket Options as well the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar before you do purchase any on your own. Be sure to come back to planDisney to let us know how it goes so that we can give you some of our best tips and advice for enjoying the Theme Parks together this October!

Hope you and your wife have a great time balancing a few days of work and play at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
