Hi Linda,
I absolutely adore
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and I know you will too!
On party nights my family typically opts to spend the day relaxing at our Disney Resort Hotel instead of visiting a theme park. That way we don't have to use any of our theme park admission entitlements. We just need the party tickets to access Magic Kingdom Park for the evening.
If you plan to attend this event, then you will only need the party tickets. However, if you would prefer to spend the entire day at Magic Kingdom Park, or visiting another Disney Theme Park, then you'll definitely need to use the Park Hopper Tickets too. It is not possible to spend the entire day at Magic Kingdom Park with just the party tickets. In other words, you would need to buy the 2 types of tickets: admission to the park and party tickets too.
I suggest purchasing your party tickets as soon as possible, as these events can sell out very quickly. They do limit the amount of Guests at the theme park. On party nights, Magic Kingdom Park closes to regular-ticket holders at 7:00 p.m. I recommend arriving late afternoon, or early in the evening. You'll find that attraction lines are often much shorter than usual, making the evening quite magical!
Disney Mom Tip: To watch Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade, claim a spot somewhere near the middle of Main Street U.S.A. The gravediggers will typically do their dance a few times along the parade route, and Main Street U.S.A. is usually one of those spots. You'll also be able to better appreciate Cinderella Castle changing colors in the background from that particular area of the parade route.
Wishing you a most memorable vacation at the place where
The Magic is Endless!
