Would like to attend the campfire at the Fort Wilderness Campground. What is the best way to get there from Pop Century resort using Disney transportation? What time does it start and what time to leave the resort to get there. Trip is Nov 12 - 20th.

Hi Rebecca! One of our favorite activities when staying in Fort Wilderness is the nightly Chip and Dale Campfire Singalong followed by a movie. If not actually attending we just love to sit outside our motor coach and listen to the music.

The time will depend on the time of year so when you check into Pop Century have your resort concierge check the latest updates. Generally at that time of year it will begin about 7pm.

The easiest way to reach and return when dealing with resort to resort transportation is by car or taxi. That trip would only take you about 13-15 minutes. Once you arrived by taxi to Fort Wilderness you would then hop on the internal bus and get off at the stop for the Campfire. Let your bus driver know where you need to go and he/she will stop at the correct location and guide you where to go from there. You would reverse your steps to return back to the front of the park to call for a taxi.

Your other option is to reach a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer to the Fort Wilderness bus. Again you would need to hop on the internal bus once you reach the Fort main bus depot. Make sure you check for the parks with late operating hours but know that Downtown Disney is always a safe choice for night time travel as those buses will run until at least 1am. Connecting in this way can take as long as 40-60 minutes and then add for the internal bus.

If you are in the Magic Kingdom area you can reach Fort Wilderness by boat. It is a small walk from the marina to the campfire area so you would not necessarily need to hop on the internal buses when using this route.

Enjoy and make sure you have a s'more!
