Hey Howdy Hey Andrew and welcome to planDisney!
One exciting part about a trip to Walt Disney World Resort is planning! Sounds like you are off to a great start getting your reservations and tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account. Thank you for your question about ticket assignments and YES it would matter how the tickets were assigned and linked. Let's review how to easily change it through your
My Disney Experience account.
Once you log onto your account, scroll down to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. In that section, you should see another heading at the top titled "Tickets & Memory Maker" which you will click on. In that section, you should see everyone in your party as well as the drop-down menu on the far right stating "Reassign Ticket". Simply click on that drop-down menu and switch tickets with your sons and you should be all set!
While you are in your My Disney Experience account, I would also make sure you have your
Theme Park Reservations booked and linked to your account as well. These you can only make once you have your tickets linked to your account and are entirely free. They are more of a planning tool for Disney but are required to get into the parks.
Seeing that you will be visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth in August, I wanted to let you know about the super-popular festival
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival. This celebration of the summer and fall and comes with so many highlights from concert series to delectable food and drink offerings around the park. It is one that I would highly suggest you take some time and get to experience all that this festival has to offer. It runs from July 14 to November 19 in EPCOT. Keep your eye out as well on the
Disney Parks Blog. There, they should have a
Foodie Guide to help navigate you through the highlights of the many food and drink options available at the festival.
Best Wishes on your continued planning for your special holiday later this year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.
Happy Planning,
Nick
