Hi there, Rebecca!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Can you believe you are going on a Disney Cruise Line vacation THIS MONTH!?!?! Before you know it, you will be headed to sea with Captain Mickey for some fun in the sun! I don’t know about you, but once my “cruise month” hits, that is ALL I can think about and I simply cannot focus on anything other than vacation! And it appEARs that you may be spending a few days at the theme parks before your voyage which makes it even more exciting! You get it all in this vacation – Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line AND
Castaway Cay! Nothing better than that!
Now to answer your question...none of the Disney Cruise Line ships have ATMs onboard…so you will want to come prepared with any small bills you may want for Room Service tips or your time at port. Sometimes Guest Services will be able to break bills, but it's not always guaranteed. Other than those items, everything you purchase onboard will be charged directly to your stateroom account which can then be charged to the credit card you provide. If you opt to settle your stateroom account with cash, you may do so, but be prepared with the cash prior to getting onboard. I have found that most ports do have nearby banks that you can also access, but sometimes that involves hidden fees that most would like to avoid if at all possible! The Key to the World Card that you receive when you check in at Port Canaveral will serve as your stateroom key as well as being used to make any purchases onboard. It can even be used when you visit Castaway Cay…and don’t leave Disney’s Private Island without stopping by the souvenir shops where you can find exclusive Castaway Cay merchandise!
Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app where you will find full schedules of events, entertainment and activities – and you can even keep tabs on your onboard purchases!
Wishing you a magical and memorable adventure at sea – and on land!
Happy Sailing!
