It's been a while since we ate at the Carnation Cafe, and noticed in their current menu that they no longer serve malted shakes! Is there anywhere else in the Disneyland Resort that makes malted shakes? Thanks for your help, if any.

Hi Annie! Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks so much for stopping by again and sending us another great question!

Menus are constantly evolving, and I'm sorry to hear that one of your favorite items at Carnation Cafe is no longer offered. Luckily, there's no shortage of great snacks at the Disneyland Resort, and ice cream is always a must-eat treat for me! While there is currently not another location that offers malted shakes, I have some great suggestions that I hope could be a good substitute.

If you want a classic milkshake along with a diner vibe, you can enjoy it on Route 66 at Flo's V8 Cafe located in Disney California Adventure Park. Just around the corner from Cars LandGhirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop has an amazing selection of milkshake flavors including a Create Your Own Quake Shake. If your visit allows for spending some time in the Downtown Disney District, there are some fun milkshakes, as well as classic shakes to choose from at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes. If you opt for a Crazy Shake Milkshake, it's big enough to share! One of my favorite spots to get ice cream is Salt & Straw. They don't offer milkshakes, but their selection of flavors is always innovative and delicious. One of their classic flavors, Salted Malted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, might satisfy your craving!

I hope you get all of the milkshakes and ice cream your heart desires when you visit The Happiest Place on Earth! I highly recommend following Disney Eats on Instagram for the latest foodie news at the Disneyland Resort. If you have more planning questions before you arrive, please feel free to send them to me at planDisney. You've got a friend in me, and I would love to help!

    Bon Appétit!
    Smiles,
    Lisa
