Assuming that some merchandise may be found in multiple shops in the parks, in Disney resorts and in Downtown Disney - - will the price for an identical item be the same throughout? If not, any hints on where to find the best deals for shirts, hats, toys?

    Hi Erin,

I love shopping, especially at WDW and I learned a few years ago about this very subject while on one of my trips there.  I saw an item over at Hollywood Studios (at that time it was still called MGM Studios) in one of the gift shops that I wanted and it was on sale, so I decided to get it on my way out.  I had left it a bit late and the shop was closed when I was leaving and I was checking out and going home the following day, bummer!

I window shopped in the gift shop at my WDW Resort on my departure day, saw the same item except it wasn't on sale there but I decided to ask anyways.  The cast member told me that if you see any item on sale in any of their gift shops, then that same item should be on sale throughout all of the gift shops inside WDW (as well as identical regular priced items should be the same no matter which store it comes from within WDW).  She called the store at Hollywood Studios, verified that the item was on sale and then price matched it for me.  So there you go, a longwinded answer to a very simple question but that item I was talking about was a watch which I still have, absolutely love it and all because a friendly cast member who kindly answered this very same question for me a few years ago and now I can answer it for you.  Happy shopping!

    Best wishes,
