Hello moms!!! Assuming DVC resort availability, can we schedule a vacation a couple days before a planned trip? We wouldn"t be using the dining plan to worry about any reservations. Just concerned about booking resort last minute. Thanks!!

    Howdy Natalia!!

A spontaneous trip to a Disney Vacation Club Resort!!  FABULOUS!!

I know, from experience, that you are able to book a vacation using your DVC points up to a day prior to check-in.  We did this a few years ago.  The day before we were scheduled to check-out of our DVC Resort, I called and asked if we could extend our stay.  The Resort had availability and we stayed three more days.  The same would have been true if it had been a new reservation.

The only thing to keep in mind is that you will automatically be within the 30 day cancellation period guidelines.  If you need to cancel, all vacation points used to make the reservation will be placed in a Holding Account in the Use Year in which the reservation falls.

I realize this chances of you making a reservation and cancelling at the same time is slim to none, but it's still something to be mindful of.

Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any further information as you plan your vacation.  I'm so glad you are maximizing your Disney Vacation Club Membership.  Enjoy every magical moment you experience while on vacation!
