We are assigned the 8:15 pm dinner seating for our cruise, & have been wait listed for the earlier seating. The later seating is too late for us, & I'm wondering if we need to notify someone that we don't intend to attend the later seating?

    Ahoy, Christine!

Welcome back to planDisney! The rotational dining experience is one of my favorite parts of sailing with Disney. Between the themed restaurants, incredible serving teams, and a little Disney storytelling sprinkled into dinner each night, it would be a real shame to miss out on the fun. Let's see if we can keep that hope afloat for an earlier dining time!

I am not sure exactly when you're setting sail, but there is still a chance your waitlist request comes through before embarkation day. I've seen dining assignments change weeks before sailing, and I've also seen them change just days before Guests arrive at the terminal. A little faith, trust, and pixie dust can go a long way, so I wouldn't give up on that waitlist just yet!

If your dining time does not change before your cruise, there is still another opportunity once you're onboard. As soon as embarkation day arrives and you board the ship, I recommend opening the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app and looking for the Onboard Dining Session event. The exact location and time can vary by ship and sailing, but it often takes place sometime between approximately noon and 3:00 PM.

This is your opportunity to speak directly with the Dining Team and make one final request for Main Dining. They'll do everything they can to accommodate requests based on availability. Since many Guests stop by to discuss dining changes, I recommend making this one of your first priorities after boarding. My crew and I have had very good luck with requests like this over the years, and I'm sending a little of that good fortune your way!

I hope this helps as you prepare to set the table for a magical voyage! With a little patience and perhaps a dash of Remy's culinary luck, I'm hopeful you'll find yourself enjoying dinner at a time that works perfectly for your crew.

Sea ya real soon as the days grow longer and the countdowns grow shorter,
    Dustin
