I was assigned original stateroom on 6th deck but some changes occurred and are now on Deck 2 midship. I was a bit unsure have this low deck number. Any pros to having a Deck 2 instead of Deck 6.

    Hey there! Hi there, Renee!

"You're as welcome as can be" to planDisney. Thanks for the opportunity to discuss one of my favorite topics: Disney Cruise Line stateroom location logistics benefits. You seem to be heading for a great adventure aboard your cruise ship and in a stateroom location that I find very desirable.

There are many great advantages to a stateroom located on a lower deck, particularly in the midship section of the ship. I love the way a lower-deck stateroom places our family close to the heart of magic aboard our ship, just a short climb to deck 3 and deck 4. In and near the ship's main atrium, you'll find the ideal location for meeting characters. Your main dining rooms will be within steps, allowing for a quick and convenient change right before dinner if you desire. Many of the daily activities and events will also be very close in the lounges, adult spaces, and other unique locations throughout decks 3 and 4. And don't forget how close you will be to the top-notch Disney entertainment found only in the Walt Disney Theater.

Among my favorite benefits of booking a stateroom on a lower deck is that they generally cost less. For me, that means I can plan our next Disney Cruise Line vacation that much sooner! Another practical benefit of a deck 2 stateroom, especially in the midship area, is that it is located near the ship's center of gravity. For passengers who may be more sensitive to a ship's motion, that generally means a little less rocking and a lot more opportunities to savor every last minute of your Disney cruise vacation.

My family just returned home from an amazing vacation aboard the Disney Wonder. We had two staterooms on deck 2, in the aft section of the ship. Some of my favorite memories from the cruise were being able to sleep in just a bit and quickly hop up to deck 3 for delicious full-service breakfasts each morning. Late at night, it was just perfect to enjoy evening games and activities in the adult areas of the ship, including appetizers and drinks in the Crown & Fin Pub, before slipping down the stairs in no time to enjoy an incredibly comfortable rest each night in our stateroom bed. If we were to do it all over again, we would definitely choose a stateroom on deck 2 again. What's that I see on our personalized Castaway Club page? Oh, yes, it would appear that our next cruise is also booked with a stateroom on deck 2!

I hope you have a magical cruise, Renee. Please let us know if there are any more questions we can help answer.
