Hi there, Dana!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad you sailed by with your question about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! You are going to have the most
WONDERful time sailing with Captain Mickey and your six-year old is at the perfect age for this vacation! Make sure you register him for the
Youth Clubs when you complete your Online Check-In because he will, without a doubt, love it in there! My boys are about the same age and we struggle to get them out of the clubs because they are having so much fun! In case you encounter the same issue, we have been known to use chocolate chip cookies to lure them away!
I 100% understand your concern about the late dinner seating and your little guy being exhausted after a long day and therefore not enjoying the dining experience…. because really, that won’t be fun for anyone, right?!?! If you haven’t yet, make sure you are on the waitlist for main dining. You can do this by contacting Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 or your travel agent and having them note your request on your reservation. Honestly, we have OFTEN been assigned late dining and put ourselves on the wait list and we have always gotten that request granted prior to embarkation. Disney Cruise Line wants to make sure everyone has the most magical experience possible, so they really do try to do whatever they can to honor requests. If it is not changed prior to embarkation, then I recommend making it a priority once onboard to go to the scheduled location to see about getting the change made. I know you will be excited to explore the ship but check the
Navigator app for the time and location for onboard dining changes and make sure you are there.
I am so excited for you and all that awaits you onboard. Sending pixie dust your way that your dining time request gets changed prior to embarkation! Oh, and when you do dine at
Tiana’s Place, be sure to save room for the beignets AND bread pudding…my absolute favorites!
Happy Sailing!
