Asked the question how to request enclosed balcony at Saratoga Springs & was told all the upper floors have enclosed balconies this is infact not true as we recently had a 3rd floor room & could shake hands with our neighbours balconies were open .

Hi Lorna, welcome home and welcome back to planDisney! I wanted to apologize that I didn’t get the answer right the first time. I misunderstood what you meant by an enclosed balcony. Upon reading your follow-up question, I researched it more thoroughly and I’ve found just the right answer!

Lorna, I looked at some building plans for Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and saw that the majority of the balconies just have the safety railing along the perimeter. However, there’s one studio and one 1-bedroom villa on each floor of each building that have the enclosed balcony you’re looking for. If you look at an overhead view of a building plan, you’ll see that each building is shaped almost like a horseshoe, which certainly fits in with the theming of the Resort! At the center of each building facing inwards toward the courtyard, you’ll find those villas with enclosed balconies.

After doing some additional digging, I’ve noticed that the room numbers for the deluxe studios with the enclosed balcony all end in “23” while the room numbers for the 1-bedroom villas with the enclosed balcony all end in “25”. Now, the My Disney Experience app won’t be able to take such specific requests, but if you call Member Services with this information, they may be able to add it to your room reservation. But I just want to caveat that such requests may not always be honored, especially because these two rooms typically serve as part of a 2-bedroom lock-off villa.

Lorna, I wanted to apologize again for the misunderstanding on my part and hopefully have provided the response you’re looking for! I’m also wishing you all the pixie dust that you’re able to get one of these enclosed balconies for your next Disney Vacation Club stay.
