You'll be glad to know that many theme park tickets purchased before the pandemic-related closure have had their expiration dates automatically extended. This includes the 2020 Southern California Resident Ticket which will now expire on December 16, 2021. November 20-27 are blocked out, but since you plan to visit in December, those blockout dates shouldn't affect you.

You will need to make a theme park reservation for the day you want to visit. The first step will be to link your ticket to your Disneyland Resort account either through the Disneyland app or on the Disneyland Resort website. Once your ticket is linked, you should be able to make a reservation. If you have Park Hopper tickets, you will make a reservation for the park you want to start at and then at 1:00 p.m., you can hop to the other park. You might want to check the theme park reservation availability calendar before making any plans.
