Hi! I want to ask, do you still do the show at the front door of Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida, where the characters were arriving on a train? And what time do they do it? What time do you recommend arriving so you can see the show well?

Hello, Yolanda! Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

It sounds like you’re an early-rising rope dropper like me. The excitement of a day at Walt Disney World—especially the Magic Kingdom—never fails to jumpstart my day. Coffee, Mickey Ears, and it’s off to the parks!

I’m sorry to report that the show you described was retired in 2017, but I’m thrilled to share that you can still get a dose of morning magic at the Let the Magic welcome show. Guests can now stroll down Main Street to Cinderella’s Castle approximately one hour before official park opening. Then about 5 minutes before all the lands of the Magic Kingdom open, Mickey and his pals will greet everyone from in front of the Castle. With a wave of the Fairy Godmother’s wand and a “bibbidi bobbidi boo” you’ll be able to start your fun-filled day!

My family hasn't had trouble finding a good spot to see this show, but if it's a “must see” for you then I would recommend arriving one hour before the official park opening. The shops on Main Street are open during this time, so it’s a great opportunity to grab some coffee and snacks, or browse the Emporium. Also, be sure to check the Magic Kingdom’s hours for your specific dates since they vary throughout the year.

Yolanda, I hope this show becomes a new favorite tradition for you! Come on back to planDisney if you have any more questions!

    Enjoy your magical day!
