Welcome to planDisney, Selina!
Your holiday begins in a little less than a year, but I love that you are already thinking ahead. It will be here before you know it! It is my pleasure to share what I know about the Disability Access Service (DAS), which is an accommodation for Guests who find it difficult to wait in attraction standby queues.
As Guests just like you, we at planDisney can’t determine your DAS eligibility. However, a Walt Disney World Resort Cast Member absolutely can. Because you are a resident of the United Kingdom, the virtual pre-registration is not available to you. This means that you will not know if you’re eligible until you arrive.
AN EXTRA GEM: Keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog news because you never know if one day, before your most magical trip across the Atlantic Ocean, you will be able to access the online chat feature to determine if you qualify for DAS as a UK resident.
So, when can you talk to a Cast Member about your eligibility? On your first theme park visit, simply visit Guest Services. These locations are at each theme park’s entrance. There, a Cast Member will determine your eligibility and set you up for your first Lightning Lane return time of the day.
It is important to note that not being able to stand for long periods of time doesn’t usually qualify someone for DAS. It is to help Guests who have difficulty waiting in lines. Feel free to email disability.services@disneyparks.com for more information about Wheelchair and ECV rentals.
By the way, if the Cast Member determines that you qualify for DAS, you may use it for your entire visit (up to 60 days). It will include you and up to five additional party members, too. Woohoo!
Please let us know if you have any other questions as you prepare for your journey, Selina.
I’m all ears! Magic always,
LeAndra
