Hi, Just want to ask about going from MK to Whispering Canyon Rest. What transportation method and route do we use and when we get off transport, how far is the walk to the actual restaurant? Would eating at Crystal Palace be a better with our 2 yr old?

Getting from the Magic Kingdom to the Whispering Canyon Cafe is easy. When you exit the MK, look for the boat dock located between the monorail station and the bus depot. It will be straight in front of you. There will be signs indicating which boats will take you to the Wilderness Lodge (note that the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness are NOT the same thing). Just hop on an the boat will bring you directly there. The ride takes about 10 minutes and is quite pleasant and relaxing. I love seeing the Magic Kingdom and the area resorts from another perspective.

Once the boat docks at the Wilderness Lodge, just head for the main lobby of the hotel, about a 2-3 minute walk, and the Whispering Canyon Cafe is right off the lobby. You'll probably hear it before you see it.

The Whispering Canyon Cafe would be a fine place for a two year old. But frankly yes, if you're just asking about the child, he or she probably would be happier at the Crystal Palace. The WCC has incredible energy and lots of fun, but a two year old might be a smidge too young to "get" all the jokes. And if your preschooler is shy, some of the shenanigans could be a bit overwhelming.  On the other hand, the Crystal Palace has characters that are likely to be familiar: Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. If your child is a fan of these, then you'll be a big hit.

Both of these restaurants are ones that I've taken my children to more than a dozen times, you'll be fine at either, it just depends on what you're interested in.
