Hiya, Anthony! Welcome to planDisney!
MagicBand+ is such a nice thing to have during your visit to
The Most Magical Place on Earth. It unlocks your Disney Resort hotel room door, allows you to tap into the theme parks, check in at the Lightning Lane entrances for select attractions, unlock enchanting interactions across Walt Disney World Resort, just to name a few!
To answer your question, Anthony, you can absolutely assign a new
MagicBand+ to a Guest in your travel party. You can do so in 3 easy steps:
1. Ensure your band is turned on by pressing the button on the back once. Once that’s done, you can tap the band to your device.
2. You will then be prompted to open the
My Disney Experience app.
3. Follow the instructions in the app to link the MagicBand+ and assign it to a Guest in your Family & Friends List. You can also pair it to your mobile device. The app will also show the level of charge on your band, and prompt you to complete a software update if applicable.
And Bibbidi Bobbidi Boom! You’re ready to go. I should also mention that if the Guest you are assigning the new MagicBand+ to has the My Disney Experience app downloaded on their device, they can link the band to their account by following the same steps above.
MagicBands come in many different colors and designs, it’s a great way to showcase your Disney Style! Another great perk of using a MagicBand+ is the ability to charge food and merchandise purchases to the payment card on file at your Disney Resort hotel room. It's one more way MagicBand+ helps simplify your park day! You can find MagicBand+ at most merchandise locations across Walt Disney World Resort, including the merchandise stores located in the
Disney Resorts Collection hotels.
I hope this answers your question, Anthony. Before you know it, you’ll be tapping into the parks! If you have any questions about MagicBands, or any other aspect of your upcoming visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at
planDisney. My fellow panelists and I are always happy to help!
Happy planning!
