How do I get from the art of animation resort to the magic kingdom?

    Hiya Charles!

Welcome to planDisney! One of the things I love about visiting Walt Disney World Resort is that I don't have to worry about driving. When I go on vacation I just want to be a passenger princess and not worry about maps and tolls.

Thankfully, if you are staying at Disney's Art of Animation Resort you have a few transportation options that are all free! When traveling to Magic Kingdom Park from Disney's Art of Animation Resort the only option using complimentary Resort transportation is the bus. There is one bus stop at this Resort that is centrally located near the front. Each Park has their separate waiting areas that are labeled so just queue up in the area labeled for Magic Kingdom Park. This Resort also has a Disney Skyliner station which will connect you to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. As a result, there is usually no bus transportation to these two Parks when the Disney Skyliner is running. The Disney Skyliner will stop running if there is lightning or other serious weather conditions and when that happens the busses will start up for this Resort instead.

If you are comfortable with spending some money you can also hail a rideshare or a Minnie Van™ Service through the Lyft app. If using a regular rideshare like Uber or Lyft to go to Magic Kingdom Park you will find that the closest you can be dropped off is to the Ticket and Transportation Center. From there you will have to take a boat or monorail to get to the Park. If you hail a Minnie Van™ which is driven by Cast Members, you will be dropped off right near the bus stop area very close to Magic Kingdom Park. I love using the Minnie Van™ Service when heading to Magic Kingdom Park as the drop-off location is so close and convenient. It's also a very adorable mode of transportation when you want to feel luxurious.

I hope this helps and if you need help finding your way please feel free to let me know!

    Happy Planning!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
