We will be at the Art of Animation Lion King Suite in 3 weeks. I'm planning a surprise outdoor meal for my teens one afternoon and would like to know a special shady place to do this at that is not poolside. Do you have any ideas?

    Welcome to planDisney, Stacy!

I’m thrilled to hear that you will be joining Simba and his pals in the Pride Lands! Watch out for Timon and Pumbaa, and be sure to eat your grubs!

I absolutely love staying at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! In fact, I have a trip planned for next year! I think a surprise outdoor meal in the afternoon sounds like a roaring-good time, and I have a few spots that I think your party could enjoy!

You may consider eating at the shaded outdoor tables just outside of Landscape of Flavors! These tables are a great place to dine outside, and they offer a lovely view of the Resort!

Another option, if you’re more of a “Hakuna Matata” family, would be to dine under Pride Rock in the Lion King courtyard! This offers some great shade, but would be more of a “picnic” in the savanna!

My last option for you would be to find the benches that are located near the Finding Nemo playground (near the Disney Skyliner station)!

I hope you’re ready for the adventure of a lifetime, Stacy! If you have additional questions before your trip, we’d love to hear from you again at planDisney!
